TALENI: Workforce Development
Provides barrier removal services to support youth and young adults, specifically ages 18-24, in gaining meaningful engagement. Services include assistance with essential milestones such as obtaining a driver’s license, GED, or high school diploma. Participants are placed at various worksites across the city and receive job readiness training, workshops, and individualized support to prepare them for successful employment and personal growth.
Strengthening Families Program (SFP)
The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a 14-session, evidence-based training program focused on enhancing parenting skills, children’s social skills, and overall family life skills. Designed for families with 5th-grade children, SFP offers sessions for parents and children separately as well as joint sessions to promote family cohesion and positive development.
Family Case Manager
The Family Case Manager works with families with children ages 0-12, offering parenting workshops, enhanced visitation, family advocacy, and team-based decision-making support. Responsibilities include case management, providing school-age children with one-on-one mentorship, organizing workshops for children and teens, offering basic information and referrals, and conducting outreach to connect families with essential resources.
Bilingual Samoan Parenting Class
This family program explores the dynamic interactions within a traditional Samoan family, offering insights into cultural values and practices. Our parenting class is guided by the APIPES 8-week parenting curriculum, with a focus on recognizing both Samoan and American cultural influences and their impact on the lives of our youth and families as a whole.
Family Liason
Our Family Liaison program is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to
families and individuals.
Services offered are housing, immigration services, CalFresh, MediCal, and other essential needs. Whether you're seeking general help or more personalized guidance, our liaison is here to support you every step of the way.
Epenesa O Samoa Senior Program
Founded in 1995, the Epenesa O Samoa Senior Program provides a welcoming, friendly, and safe environment where seniors can gather, socialize, and receive support. Open to all seniors aged 60 and older, as well as individuals under 59 with a permanent disability, the program offers a variety of activities, including workshops, weekly discussions, field trips, and wellness activities.
